I wanted to take a moment and reflect on last evenings outing in the Warehouse District celebrating Jack Kerouac’s birthday for those who weren’t able to attend. It was an amazing night of ukulele music, free styling poetry and comradery as we toasted to the King of the Beats.
I would like to thank everyone who attended last night’s first Poetry Slam at InsideOut Gallery. You made the event a hit. Thanks to Mike hosting and serving as judge, thanks to S.T.R.U.M. for opening the show and making us all smile, thanks to my son Whit for being our other judge and modeling the crown here and most of all, THANK YOU POETS! Last night’s King of the Beats of Traverse City was J.P. who’s thought provoking free style poem about bubbles stole the night and took the crown.
We hope to have more poetry events like this at InsideOut Gallery in the future, so keep watching for details on our facebook page.
