Landmark Books is proud to offer a special reading of fiction from two first time novelists, Chris Minnick and Paul Stebleton. Both attended University of Michigan Anne Arbor, played in bands and have worn many hats over the years.
According to his website, “Chris Minnick is a prolific published author, blogger, trainer, web developer and co-founder of WatzThis?. Minnick has overseen the development of hundreds of web and mobile projects for customers from small businesses to some of the world’s largest companies, including Microsoft, United Business Media, Penton Publishing, and Stanford University.”
But I know Chris from our days together in as housemates in Ann Arbor nearly a quarter century ago. He and I formed a little band called Gunrack and played over a dozen shows. Along the way we had many adventures and near misses with fame. We missed out having a 45 released to a young upstart named Kid Rock and our performance for Larry Livermore of LookOut Records was far from stellar since our guitar player couldn’t make the gig. I would go on to publish one of Chris’s first stories through Squirrel Cane Press back in 1993.
Get back in the time machine and skip ahead to 2017 and we’ll be appearing together once again at Landmark Books, this time as authors. Chris will be reading from his first novel “Ferment” which is already a big seller on Amazon. Me, I’ll be reading a sampling form my unfinished novel “Bill’s Thumbnail Sex Manual” which I hope to have completed and published by 2018, your feedback will either give me reason to finish it or just add to my compost pile.
This reading is free to the public, I would rate the subject matter PG as there may be some large words and colorful language. Reading starts at 7:00PM and we will have books available for purchase and I’m sure you can convince the author’s to sign them.
